Etnographical museum of rural culture

The etnographical museum of rural culture represents the unique chance to make a short voyage in the past of the rural culture of Valvestino, through an exaustive gathering of documents, witnesses and old tools, habits and usages.
The museum, placed i one of the barns in Cima Rest divided into three parts: the hayflot at the second floor, the stall at the first one and the “casera” at the end of the basement.
Barns in Cima Rest

Witness of unique rural architectural works, with surely east European influences, from the particular building typology, the barns are the peculiar characteristic of Cima Rest village in the village of Magasa.
The oldest date back to the 17th century.
People live in in every moment of the year and barns are subdivided rationnaly according to the farmers needs, they had a wood mezzanine for the pasture harvesting and the basement was used both as stall and depot.
From autumn to spring barns was place of coagulation of milk and of the very tasty cheeses and butter production.
Characteristic and odd is the slooping roof composed by about 7500 wheat straw bunches, more than 1 mt long, strictly bounded toeach other and placed as to be water-repellent.
Some of these barns have been reused to make a touristic accomodations.
Astronomical Observatory in Cima Rest

It is managed by the astrophils Association of Saḷ, and is located at 1300 mt altitude, it's the greatest attraction of Valvestino.
One opportunity more to choose this natural ambience, with no light poluution,even to enjoy the spectacle offered by stars and planets.
Located in Cima Rest, in the town of Magasa, besides the characteristic group of barns it is attainable and open to anybody.
Natural Park of Alto Garda

In the territory of the park you can distinguish differnt territorial realties with a great naturalistic and landscape value.
The coast of Garda with its climate mediterranean characteristics ad the mountaininland at about 2000 mt height.
The coast of the Park represents one of the naturalist and tourist most famous and loved internationally Italian ambiences.
In the hill and mountain areas, distributed all over the park territory, less crowded by tourists, a large grid of wood routes and paths besides the presens of refuges bivouacs and other cosy also rural structures, as the traditional austro.hungarian barns with their strew roofs in Cima Rest (Valvestino)
The Park makes a fascinatinf backdrop to practise different sports.
The territory itself, modified as to give different ideas to make excursions and scoutings of this area, finding out the mountain side of the Alto Garda, not less interesting of that by the lake, Which people often miss to link to the Benaco.
The possibility of stay in rural buildings, and sometimes of relevant historical importance, gives to this kind of activity some more appeal, which can be put into a modern and dynamic touristical context.
